The Kansas Jayhawks have emerged victorious in the Orange Bowl, the Kansas City area can claim a nationally unique status. First the University of Missouri won the Cotton Bowl, followed by KU’s victory Thursday in the Orange Bowl. KU’s victory was the perfect complement to the performance of the Missouri Tigers team that won the Cotton Bowl on Tuesday.

Coach Mark Dantonio wanted to win back some respect for the Michigan State football program in his first year as head coach. The Spartans finished with a winning record and made a bowl game for the first time since 2003. And it looks like Dantonio has built a foundation for future success.

The Detroit Lions met with Head Coach Rod Marinelli in Allen Park on Monday to wrap up the season and begin the offseason process. Marinelli recapped the season and re-emphasized his expectations. Obviously players are disappointed in the end-result of this 7-9 season and the opportunity that wasn’t realized the way they hoped it would be.

Appalachian State University became the 1st university in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision to win its 3rd consecutive Football Championship Subdivision title, after defeating the University of Delaware 49-21. With their team unity leading the way, Mountaineers were able to take control of the match from the very beginning. On their 1st possession in the game, Kevin Richardson scored on a nineteen-yard pass from quarterback Armanti Edwards. The team’s defense was able to hold a very talented Delaware offense to only 2 touchdowns. Appalachian State University solidified their 3rd consecutive national championship late in the 4th quarter after Trey Elder scored on a 53-yard run.

Smith is a sophomore walk-on defensive lineman playing for the Blue Hens in the opposition to Appalachian State. Smith has already appeared in games for the Blue Hens against West Chester and Monmouth this season. We’ll see how this Bermudian strive for NCAA football title end.

Eastern Illinois University now is searching for an impact running back. Chevon Walker is a redshirt freshman announced that he planed to transfer to Eastern for the spring semester in order to help the Panthers in the first round of the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision playoffs to overcome three years’ roadblock. Walker admitted that the team needs a guy athletically push them out at the next level,

The number of college football fans, who is still favoring the current system determining what team plays for the national championship, is shrinking. The time has come to kill the Bowl Championship Series format. The time has come for the NCAA to get with the times and adopt an 8-team, national championship playoff format. The decisions should be made on the field, as is done in every other major sport in the land

NCAA footballGordon Moulton, President of University of South Alabama, is expected to recommend the implementation of an NCAA-sanctioned program at the university during the board of trustees meeting on December 6. Gordon Moulton feels very comfortable making a recommendation. In case the board of trustees accepts his recommendation and votes in its favor, an implementation committee is expected to immediately start making NCAA Football at the University a reality

On Saturday in Dover, Del., Thrasher ran for 138 yards and Daniels added seventy-nine, including a thirty-yard touchdown, as Hardin-Baylor defeated Wesley College 27-10 in an NCAA Division III quarterfinal. Jarvis Thrasher’s 83-yard run during the 3rd quarter set up afour-yard touchdown pass from Welch to Aquilera. Quincy Daniels then scored from thirty yards out with 3:28 left as the Crusaders increased their lead to 24-3.

Let’s look at a big NCAA Football game this weekend. Ohio State is still in the mix for the Bowl Championship Series, even though the team is sitting at home in the final days of the season. After the Buckeyes lost to the Fighting Illini a few weeks ago, analysts wrote of the Ohio State University’s chances at the BCS title. The Ohio State Buckeyes would play Michigan before their season ended and that wouldn’t be enough time to climb back up the Bowl Championship Series ladder, they argued. However, Ohio State is still in the game.
