Bowling Green had a rather mediocre year last year. The year is going to be tough too. The offense is going well right now, with a decent quarterback and running game. But the defense had a lot of trouble last year at stopping the other teams. That is to say, the team has to be even more careful when they’re defending their endzone. This year is going to be a lot of fun for them and it’s going to be interesting to see if they are able to overcome some of their other difficulties. The Falcons have had some exciting games in the last few years, including some very interesting games against in-state rivals. This is a very interesting year for them, because they will want to get themselves back into the big games and into an over .500 year. Are you a fan? Today, I wanted to look at the chances of Kansas University in the 2009 NCAA Football world. This team had a very nice year last season. They went 5-1 in the first six weeks and got into a bowl game. They won the Insight Bowl against Minnesota and everyone was quite content about the way it worked out. With Todd Reesing at the helm of the offense, they have had good stability at the position. He knows what he’s trying to play and he’s good at it. The receiver corps is also a very good one. On the other side, the team will be trying to improve on defense. They have had trouble getting themselves into a good position to stop the other teams’ passing games, but they are on their way to be a lot better about it. If you’re a Kansas fan, you will be able to enjoy another impressive season!

The Mike Balogun case continues in Oklahoma. The NCAA has said that he isn’t eligible to play, because of some of his outside playing commitments that he had before. He has filed a lawsuit, claiming that he is actually eligible based on the rules. Instead, the judge has postponed the case to see if they can just solve the problem outside of court via the normal process that fixes these problems. He will be working to convince them that he is and was in fact allowed to play. If not, then the Sooners might forfeit all the games that he played in. It wouldn’t be a big issue, but that Oklahoma is an important team with a good record over the last several years. There’s no real report as to when this case might be settled, but it could be relatively soon.

Next season, the Northern Illinois Huskies are going to be an impressive team. Not only have they learned from last season’s challenges, but they are getting to be a more mature crowd. Their quarterback is a better runner than a thrower most of the time, but that kind of thing happens sometimes. And their running game is decent, having won several games against tough teams last season. The big part of the show is the defense, however. They were able to win big games last year mainly due to the performance of their defense, which has successfully stopped the run and the pass. With NIU, you can expect a decent season. They’re not going to be BCS champions or anything anytime soon, but they are going to be an interesting team.

When the Oklahoma Sooners take the field this year, they will have high expectations as usual. If you’re ready, let’s take a look at what THEIR season might look like. They have been one of the best teams of the decade. They were unable to win the national championship last year, though they were a very good team. It’s a little bit hard to imagine how they could sink very much since last year. Their quarterback was one of the youngest players to ever win the Heisman Trophy. Their running game is probably the strongest part of their offense, with several talented rushers. Their offensive line might be the most challenged part of their system, with only one returning player from last year, but they are pretty good at training new players to protect their quarterback and make the openings the rushers need. It should be a big year for the team, but it remains to be seen where they actually end up.

The New Mexico State Aggies will be one of the teams to watch for a lot of growth from this year. They had lots of trouble last year, having lost some games badly. The team had no real quarterback, though he did lead the team to a close win over University Texas El Paso. But next they will be working their way through a rebuilding phase that will last quite a few years. This team is hoping to become well-rounded generally. The new coach from UCLA has said that he doesn’t want his team to have a good offense or a good defense only, but instead to be balanced at both of them. The Aggies did lose to archrivals the Lobos this year and that was quite unfortunate for them, because it’s always a little bit sad when that happens. Next season will show improvement, but who knows how much!

The Wisconsin Badgers are going to be aiming to get a bit better this year. They’ve been good at battling the last several years, making it into some bowl games and so on. But they haven’t established themselves as greatly dominant. In fact, their marching band is practically better than the football team, at least in terms of competing, since the band almost always wins. At the same time, the Badgers are a solid team that just needs some work. There are many questions that need to be asked, according to Badgers watchers, including the all-important question of whether the quarterbacks are good enough to lead them to more Bowl games. The Ohio State Buckeyes are helping out one of their players Terelle Pryor, whose father has a disease called Charcot-Marie-Tooth. This is a disease that causes people to not be able to walk properly and can cause them to have trouble using their hands. It causes numbness and loss of control in the extremities and can be quite difficult to live with. Since his father has that disease, the team decided to have a benefit for the disease. They said that the organization is a great partner with them and it’s going to be a lot of fun for them to help out such a worthy cause. The money they raise will go towards research into the disease and try to find a way to eliminate it.

The Florida Gators know when they have a good thing. The team has won national championships up the wazoo, as they say, and they hope to keep that going. One of the best ways to keep a college team going strong is to keep the coaches in place. The players are always shuffling through, but the coaches can remain in place. Thus, the Florida university is all set to go with their coach Urban Meyer, who now has a contract worth $24 million over the next 6 years. They wont have to worry about much else in between now and then, because he seems to have a good coaching plan and an impressive plan for attracting prospects. In addition, winning is always a good way to get prospects as well, so this team is set for awhile. It’s just up to all the competitors to get it done right!
