The star player of the Washington team, quarterback Jake Locker, has decided to show his baseball skills this season as he will play for the Bellingham Bells this season. The West Coast Collegiate baseball team has many top players playing from the Northwest. The general manager of the Bell’s team, Dave Lewis, said that the decision of Locker to play baseball was in consultation with his football coach Tyrone Willingham. The football coach said that he completely supports the decision of Jake Locker to play baseball in the coming season and denied the fact that playing baseball will cause an impact on his football skills.
Jake Locker was a standout baseball player in high school and he is capable of both pitching as well as playing in the outfield. Locker was to be a first round picks for the 2006 amateur baseball draft, but his prior commitment to play for the Washington football team had the major league teams step backwards. Locker had an outstanding season for Washington last season with 14 touchdowns and he threw for 2,062 yards. He not only made rushes for another 986 yards but also had 13 scores last season. Lewis feels that it is football that first comes to the mind of Locker and he is sure that he will join the Washington team for their season opener at Oregon on August 30.

Les Miles, the coach of Louisiana State University is unhappy as his team is starting the spring training with out two quarterbacks. Matt Flynn and Ryan Perriloux were the back bones of this team who are the defending national champions. The tigers expected Matt Flynn’s absence in this season as he has become a senior with 5years experience and wanted to try his luck in NFL this year. But, they were without any clue that they will be forced to play this season with out Ryan Perilloux, who got suspension for violating the rules of the team.
Perilous is facing the third suspension within last one year. Coach miles do not want to spend time by talking about perilloux instead he has planned to focus on the new guys who want to be with the team. Though, perilloux made good start in the last season, his nasty behavior and pranks over shadowed his on - field performance. Last summer, he got suspension for entering a casino using a bogus identification card and got one day suspension, later that season for his misbehavior in a night-club. According to Miles discipline is a major issue for a team and is confident that he can create new leaders as well as play makers in the absence of Perilloux.
