The running back of Virginia Tech Branden Ore has decided to step out of the Virginia Tech team next year and has had a lot of deliberations with his coach Frank Beamer before arriving at this decision. He said that it was his life decision at the moment and will do what he feels is right to him. The Virginia tech coach said the team acknowledges the services rendered by Branden for Virginia Tech. The coach wished him well in all his future endeavors.

There was no answer from the Sports Information officials as well as the player regarding the quitting matter. One of Ore’s friends was convicted by a federal court for possession of crack cocaine that he intended to distribute. Ore was once involved in a drug trafficking case when he was found to be in possession of two bags of drugs riding in a car along with his friend Tony Majette of Christiansburg in 2006 and was asked to appear in the court for giving explanation. Ore was not charged in the end.
