NCAA football was established in the year 1997 as a non-profit body to promote football in college. The association comprises of the Collegiate commissioners association (CCA), the National association of collegiate directors of athletics (NACDA), National collegiate athletic association (NCAA) and American football coaches association (AFCA).
The association has been formed with the mission to protect, improve and promote the game of football in college. The objectives of the association include increasing the interest in the game through a plethora of interactive programs; promoting good sportsmanship; being the sole representative for college football; generating revenue through sponsorships and fund projects that encourage college football.
Some of the promotional activities of the NCAA include:
Public service announcements- These feature student athletes who remain in school instead of entering the professional draft. This is broadcast in every major television channel and cable network.
Branding- The logo on the jersey and the helmets of the players differentiates the college game from the professional football.
Website- The official site of NCAA is a destination for all the college football fans. The site contains all the information pertaining to NCAA.
Involving Kids- There are innumerable children who go to football games in college every year thanks to the promotional program in the various schools which are administered by the division members of NCAA.
